WAVY-TV 10 News Intern

Assist reporters and anchors with a variety of tasks like research news stories, attend field shoots, shoot video, conduct interviews, fact check information, log video footage, transcribe interviews, write and edit news stories on a tight deadline. Obtained more than 600 hours of working newsroom experience. 

 
WAVY - TV 10 Production Operator

March 2015- June 2016

 

Set- up the studio for daily newscasts (moving cameras, microphones/IFB, IPads, preparing news scripts, general maintenance and clean- up of the new set). Supervise upkeep of lighting for television. Reset chyron (graphics generator) operation for daily production. Operate robotic cameras in the studio during (4, 5, 5:30, & 6pm evening and 6, 10 & 11pm weekend newscasts). Run teleprompter operations in during newscasts. Direct anchors and reporters while on set. Edit and flip 7-day weather billboard to the hub using AVID media composer.

 

WAVY - TV 10 Production Intern

January 2015- March 2015

 

Set- up the studio for daily newscasts (moving cameras, preparing news scripts, general maintenance and clean- up of the new set). Operate robotic cameras in the studio during (the midday, evening, and weekend newscasts, as well as, the locally produced Hampton Roads Show). Run teleprompter operations in during newscasts. WODU Television News- Reporter, Anchor and Producer

August 2014- May 2015

 

Reported, anchored, and produced news stories that impact students, faculty, staff and surrounding community of Old Dominion University. Pitched story ideas, developed story angles, conducted interviews, shot BROLL, edited footage using Final Cut and wrote stories. Developed rapport with ODU Police, the Women’s Center, SGA and Career Development officials to receive credible information.
